A Round up of Charity Events from The Consortium
A Round up of Charity Events from The Consortium -- Sept 2007
Ever the reliable and not one to disappoint, The Consortium continued their charitable efforts this summer
to raise over £4000 for selected charities.
One such charity event included a gruelling 55 mile walk over 2 days following the White Horse Trail
in Wiltshire. Seven employees participated in the White Horse Challenge in June, raising an impressive
£1200 for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
A team from The Consortium also participated in the Bath Race for Life in June, where staff and
family members walked, jogged and ran a 5km course in the grounds of Bath University to raise money
for Cancer Research UK. A grand total of £560 was raised by the ladies.
Furthermore, September saw the second annual Consortium Charity Golf Day in aid of Cancer Research UK,
at Cumberwell Park Golf Club in Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire - a the perfect backdrop. Teams of employees
and suppliers participated in a competitive clash for numerous titles, including the Longest Putt, Longest
Drive, Straightest Hit and Closest to the Pin awards. Not forgetting the all important Hole in One prize
was up for grabs! Congratulations to the team winners ‘Kit for Kids’, consisting of Ron Davis and Graham
Campbell both from Kit for Kids and Steve Gardiner and Brian Shepherd from The Consortium. The day and
evening’s events raised a fantastic £2,500 for Cancer Research UK.
